The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

good books

Growing up, I could not stand to read.
No, I mean I actually HATED it. Seriously, I had only read one or two books fully in my LIFE. That included ones for school and dumb book reports.
I have no idea what changed. Maybe it's because I actually stumbled across some really, really good books lately.
I mean, super ones. The other day I finished
"The Purpose of Man," by A. W. Tozer, and now today I just finished
"Experiencing the Depths of Jesus Christ," by Jeanne Guyon.
Both of which are amazing books. Which says a lot for someone who is not a huge fan of reading, like pulling teeth actually.
But the more I keep running across books like these, the more I can't put them down.
I am excited to get into a comfy chair and digest all of the knowledge.

If you like to read, or even if you don't, I would recommend these books.
Especially the second one by Jeanne Guyon. It will change your life. No seriously.

I am intrigued by this lady Guyon. She really knew Jesus intimately. She dwelled with Him daily, even in prison. She was imprisoned with charges based on this book, and the book was publicly burned in France. She is what we call revolutionary. Not only did she change the spiritual climate around her, but for centuries beyond.

small

Here recently, I have been looking at the earth.
feeling so small.
And trying to imagine how BIG
God really is...
I can't. My mind won't wrap around it.
God says that the earth is his footstool.

And He, the King, knows me. He not only knows me intimately, but He delights in me. He wants me to come into His chambers.

Beloved, the God that created the heavens and earth, He calls us to come into his chambers so He can delight in us.
What a beautiful picture.

Oh if we could just grasp how much we are truly loved, we would come out of hiding, and run to our Husband, our maker.

To take this a step further:
He actually lives within us.
Royalty lives in our bodies.
"...you abide with Him in the chambers of your spirit." - Jeanne Guyon

You do not have to pray to a distant God, but the Holy Spirit lives within the chambers of our spirits and we have the privilege of abiding and dining with our King daily,

and not feeling quite so small after all.
